jargon-free tech news for non-technical people

If you want to get a snapshot of what's causing a buzz in the blogsphere (the postings on weblogs across the Internet), you can go to no better place than Technorati - especially now.
The site has just launched a public beta of its new look and functionality, and it rocks.
Technorati is basically Google for the impatient. It searches blogs to find out what's being discussed right now. It's a powerful way to stick your finger into the wind of Internet public opinion and is especially useful for breaking news stories like the Downing Street Memo, woefully undercovered in North America and all the buzz in England and the Internet.
Technorati also makes use of tags (or user defined keywords) that make it easy to find blog entries that match the tags you're looking for. Because other sites like Flickr also use tags, Technorati can call up images and other web content based on those sites' tags.
You can also build a smart Technorati search and make it an RSS feed so you can track topics without even going to the Technorati page. Check it out.
